LOOSE TRAX (Programmed by Meg Woof)
Flyer by Meg Woof
This is a special incarnation of Loose Trax programmed by Meg Woof. Meg Woof is an online editor at The Wire magazine, and radio presenter at Resonance 104.4FM.
November’s Loose Trax includes DJ sets from Ain Bailey, Shamica Ruddock and K2K, plus a live coding performance by Eye Measure.
Ain Bailey is a composer, sound artist and DJ who often explores the dynamic between public and private listening. Her compositions reflect on “silence and absence, architectural urban spaces, and feminist activism”. Bailey is also known for co-founding the Precious Brown clubnight at Soho’s Candy Bar in the late 1990s, then part of a network of queer underground parties in London.
Shamica Ruddock is an interdisciplinary artist and DJ, often working between sound, text and moving image. Their current practice “acknowledges the ways in which Black diasporas are engaged and explored through sound, where sound becomes a form of narrativising often with its own unified system of signifiers“. Recent works include Deciphering A Broken Syntax; a sound installation which presented a composition of time-travelling drum patterns within a listening booth inspired by the calabash gourd fruit.
Katherine Anderson aka K2K is a DJ and producer from Auckland New Zealand, where she was an active DIY party organiser and promoter. Now based in London, her regular two-hour slots on Balamii radio span progressive house, trance, techno, and more.
Eye Measure is an experimental artist and curator working with algorithmic composition and creative coding. They are an active part of the TOPLAP/live coding community, performing regularly in London and beyond.
Line up as follows: Anrimeal (live), Joe Herrick (debut live set), Dennis Cave (DJ set) and Yewen 7 – 11pm £5 ADV / £7 OTD ADV tickets on RA
This is a special incarnation of Loose Trax programmed by Gribs.
Gribs is a DJ and radio host based in London, and is formerly the co-curator of the TT (fka Tobago Tracks) label.
Dennis Cave specialises in selections ranging from new wave electronics, lo-fi hip-hop, downtempo house and everything in-between. He is a member of the wider music and production group, Woodgrain Vicious.
anrimeal is the recording project of Ana Rita de Melo Alves; singer, songwriter, producer, poet, conjuror, clodhopper and cherub. Hailing from Porto, Ana creates and manipulates digital folk song from her current base in south London, drawing on the post-minimalist principles of texture, limitation and repetition.
Yewen Jin is a thinker, coder and artist who has been investigating the relationship between the self, the body and reality as systems of stimuli in the post-digital era. Her most recent work primarily focused on music making, sound design interface and remote collaborative performance.
Joe Herrick is a producer based in London, whose work weaves “between Jan Jelinek-styled ersatz ambient and sawn-off boogie slink, with a number of odd eldritch detours” (Boomkat). His music has seen releases via labels including Extrapolation Records, система and Gochu Village.
Loose Trax is a regular listening session looking to connect producers, listeners and dancers of all kinds. Programming prioritises those actively making music.

Nexcyia is an African-American/French sound artist and experimental ambient musician based in London and Paris. Working with found sound, Nexcyia weaves together harsh sound design and swooping soundscapes into works that bridge many moods, emotions and places through noise, granular synthesis, textures and rhythms. His debut release ‘Crawl’ came out on Alien Jams in 2020, alongside an EP on Cafe Oto’s Takuroku label called ‘Origin’
Aircode is a Swedish producer based in London whose production features dubby rhythms, careful use of space, ever-changing dynamics and stirring percussion layered with vocals and piano. Their debut album Grounded came out on Alien Jams late this January.
Proteus explores industrial, experimental, and modernist electronics. From the avant-garde pioneers of electronic music to contemporary roaring raging industrial techno. A cross section thread of the dark and challenging, celebrating the urge to dance and move through feral sound.
DJ Kitfo is a Dutch- Ethiopian DJ based in London since 2010. His DJ sets blend ambient soundscapes, textured beats and the deeper ends of electro.
